Opportunity: Intermediate Software Developer

As an Intermediate Software Developer, you will be joining our Product Development team and be on the forefront of advancing CAD design for the marine industry. In this role, you will work through all facets of software development: design, prototype, implementation, testing and documentation.

Requirements:

• A degree or diploma in Computer Science or Engineering
• A thorough understanding of C++, C# and/or other object-oriented programming languages
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and work well as a team member

• 2+ years .NET Development experience
• Experience with Computer Aided Design Software
• Knowledge of design patterns, complex data structures and algorithms

Opportunity: Quality Assurance Analyst

As a member of the Quality Assurance Team you will be responsible for all things related to testing for our main product, ShipConstructor. You will perform a variety of testing including functional, performance, exploratory and usability. You will work with other members of QA and other departments to identify what needs to be tested and which areas contain the most risk. You will create test plans and test cases for a given piece of functionality and perform the tests relevant to that functionality. For bugs that you find, you will enter into our issue tracking system and quickly communicate major issues to the appropriate people. You will also assist in making suggestions and researching improvements to our QA practices.

Who we are looking for:

You are a person who genuinely enjoys testing software and consider yourself a bug finding machine. When a bug is found, you spend the time to determine the cause and create reliable steps to reproduce. Your organization skills and creativity help you develop comprehensive test plans and test cases. You are constantly improving yourself and have an interest in expanding your knowledge of QA best practices. You have experience with both scripted testing and exploratory testing. You like variety in your work and have dabbled in scripting and maybe even test automation.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• At least 2+ years’ experience in QA
• Demonstrated aptitude for software and technology
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good decision making skills
• Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail
• A methodical way of thinking
• A demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
• Fluent in English
• Relocation to Victoria, BC, plus valid Canadian work permit is required

Asset Experience:

• Experience with Scripting or Automated Testing
• Experience with AutoCAD and other CAD systems

Opportunity: PRODUCT DESIGNER

We are looking for individuals to join our Product Management team as Product Designers. You will analyze customer and market data to identify and document market problems. You will produce and develop requirements specifications and will contribute with prioritization of product development. You will participate in and act as a customer representative in product design. As your product and industry experience expands you will have the opportunity to support the sales channel as a corporate representative and product expert.

Requirements:

• One of the following:
  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline and 2 years of hands on industry experience in Product Development, Product Management, or Software Development 
  • 5 years hands on experience in Product Development, Product Management, or Software Development
• Demonstrated aptitude for software and technology
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• The ability to work effectively with people in stressful situations and maintain positive customer relations 
• The ability to work with people from various backgrounds and cultures
• A demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
• The demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead by example
• Fluent in English
• International travel will be required
