How to migrate your old ShipConstructor AutoCAD Profile to R3

Due to significant changes to the ShipConstructor CUI in R3, ShipConstructor must create a new ShipConstructor AutoCAD profile. When ShipConstructor R3 runs for the first time, it will remove your old ShipConstructor AutoCAD profile and create a new one based on the R3 CUI. This means that any customizations in your old profile will be lost when you first run R3. However, it is possible to migrate your old customizations over to R3 by following these instructions:

1.       Before installing R3, export your ShipConstructor 2008 profile.

2.       Install R3 and launch ShipConstructor 2008

3.       Go to Tools > Options and select the Profiles tab

4.       Select the Unnamed Profile and click “Set Current”

5.       Delete the existing profile ShipConstructor 2008

6.       Import the profile you exported before installing R3 and name it ShipConstructor 2008

7.       Select ShipConstructor 2008 and click “Set Current”

8.       Go to the Files tab

9.       Open the node “Customization Files”

10.    Under Main Customization File, click Browse and select the following file:

·         C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2008\ShipConstructor2008\CUI\ ShipConstructor2008.cui

11.    Under Enterprise Customization File, click Browse and select the following file:

·         C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2008\ShipConstructor2008\CUI\ ShipConstructorCUI.cui

12.    Click Ok to exit the options screen

13.    In the command prompt, type the following, hitting enter after each line:

·         Workspace

·         C

·         ShipConstructor
