Project
Bulbous Bow Plate Expansion for 40,000-tonne
Cargo Ship
ShipConstructor Modules
ShipCAM
Project Highlights
Time & Cost Savings - Yakushiji reported lower costs
for digital data production during its most recent
project. The company attributes ShipCAM’s features
LoftSpace and PlateExpand for providing expert technique
and knowledge that would otherwise only be available
through many years experience and hard work.
Easier Plate Expansion - Plate expansion of the bow
and stern portions of a hull form traditionally require
long hours of re-work and error-fixing, even by a
skilled loft worker. ShipCAM provided the accurate
digital data for NC-cutting, saving time and money while
meeting the highest standards of quality.
High Accuracy - With the expansion of a bulbous bow
plate of the 40,000-ton cargo ship, ShipCAM provided a
highly accurate plate shape where it was most difficult
to be lofted and thus exceeded the expectations of the
medium size shipyard leading that project. The shipyard
reported that ShipCAM allowed them to adapt the exact
shape of the expanded plate with no fit-up problems.
Easy-To-Learn - Yakushiji Industry reports that
novice operators were able to use the software
effectively with limited training.
