Product Description

Industrial Planning Technology, Inc. (IPT) is the developer of SmartPlan-Ships™, the automated planning and detailing software engine, and SmartPlan-Cable™, the automated cable planning software engine. Their software tools cater for automatic assembly planning of ship piping and structure and assembly planning and detailing of piping and structure. These tools will automatically plan assemblies, determine joint locations in piping and structural profiles, layout piping in bank, and will use accurate models of shipbuilding fabrication processes so that they generate optimal designs/plans for shop production. The software provides efficiency gains in all areas of the construction process and facilitates rapid replanning activities.


ShipConstructor Partnership

ShipConstructor Software Inc. has been working with Industrial Planning Technology since late 2005 on the development of a translator that will enable ShipConstructor to import and export STEP files containing pipe, HVAC, and equipment data. This technology will significantly enhance ShipConstructor’s interoperability in large shipyard environments, allow organizations to more easily access legacy data, and simplify the long term storage and retrieval of archival product model data throughout the entire product lifecycle.
