POWERFUL MODELING |

ShipConstructor's
DDROM™
(Database Driven Relational Object Model™), a new
parametric-like modeling paradigm, lets you
model and revise parts faster than ever before.
Despite its power, it remains easy to learn.
As you design parts within a
familiar 2D drafting environment,
ShipConstructor builds the 3D product model for
you, automagically linking dependencies between
all parts and geometry. Subsequent modifications
propagate to all related parts.
The pictures
on the right illustrate a deck being
moved up. All related plate parts adjust
automatically to the change.
Key benefits of
DDROM:
-
One-Click part definition within a 2D-like 3D drawing
speeds up the design process
-
Links to other parts are automatically
created, requiring minimal extra training
-
Use
ShipConstructor efficiently now for class
design
-
Keep
peace of mind as changes to the 3D model
are reflected in all effected production
drawings

EASY-TO-UNDERSTAND VISUALIZATION & AUTOMATIC
PRODUCTION OUTPUT |
|
Throughout the design phase, virtual reality fly-throughs let you
interactively visualize the emerging 3D product
model. Your customers can preview the design, and
provide feedback, before production even begins.
A data-rich 3D product model
also lets you output sophisticated documentation
for clear and unambiguous production or project management, including:
hull sections, expanded plates, offsets, and pin jigs
assembly drawings, and stiffener plots
pipe and HVAC spool and arrangement drawings
a large variety of user configurable reports
NC-code for plate cutting
Interactive 3D
visualizations can also help communicate design
intent to production workers, dramatically
reducing questions from production to
engineering, as well as reducing fabrication
errors. |

| THE ONE
DATABASE ADVANTAGE |
|
ShipConstructor 2006 introduces a single
database that now also includes all geometry.
The AutoCAD drawing is the interface to what is
stored in the database. Having one database for
everything provides the advantage that even the
largest team working on a project is always
working with up-to-date information and changes
can be propagated throughout the project with
ease.
Furthermore, utilizing ShipConstructor's
new API (Application Programming Interface),
it is now much easier to create external
software that provides tight integration with systems
company-wide, including:
sales, purchasing, accounting
scheduling & planning (ERP)
engineering analysis (FEA)
product lifecycle management (PLM)

|
EASY-TO-LEARN AUTOCAD-BASED INTERFACE |
|
ShipConstructor is recognized for its ease-of-use and minimal amount of training time due to the popular and widely known AutoCAD interface. AutoCAD is
well recognised by designers from all industries
including the maritime industry. Having such a
familiar interface allows for users to:
save money on training
have the users working on projects faster
easily communicate with suppliers and customers alike, using the most versatile drawing format in the world
