AutoCAD's eTransmit lets you easily
share ShipConstructor drawings by email, while ensuring
that all dependent files are included. |
A common problem when
sending a ShipConstructor drawing to someone is
neglecting to include related dependent files. A typical
drawing file is interconnected with several other files,
such as fonts, plot styles, raster images, and
externally referenced drawings. In some cases,
neglecting to include these dependent files can make the
drawing file unusable by the recipient.
With AutoCAD’s
eTransmit, you can easily package a drawing along with
all of its dependent files. You can then send this
package to anyone via email, CD or DVD.
Creating a transmittal package
- Select File > eTransmit. You can use the Add
File button to include additional drawings. In the
Files Tree you can click a drawing node to expand
and view its dependent files, or select or unselect
files to include in the package.
- Click Transmittal Setups and then Modify. Set
Transmittal package type to Zip or Self-extracting
executable and set Transmittal file folder to the
location to save the package.
- Click OK, Close and OK to create the package.
Emailing a transmittal package
In your email application, create a new message and
attach the Zip or Exe file as you would for any other
attachment. Make sure you check the size of the file
first. Drawing files and transmittal packages can be
quite large, and may be slow to send/receive over slow
Internet connections.
More options
eTransmit includes many options. You can include
notes with a package or produce a report that includes
instructions for the recipient. You can restrict access
to a package by requiring a password be entered. You can
even generate a web page with a link to the files,
instead of sending the package via email.
eTransmit is an easy and error-free way to share
ShipConstructor drawings.
